Why Publish Books in Multiple Languages?

A story does not have to remain inside the borders of the country where it was written.

That is one of the reasons international editions are so interesting.

Translation, however, is not simply replacing one word with another.

Tone, rhythm, dialogue and atmosphere all need to survive the transition.

A sentence that works perfectly in Dutch may need to be structured differently in English, German or French.

Names, terminology and recurring phrases also need to remain consistent across an entire series.

The goal should always be simple: a reader should never feel as though they are reading a lesser version of the original book.

Every edition should feel natural in its own language.
